People
Mbale Church of Christ is
about the people of Mbale and the surrounding area. On any one Sunday
people from tribal groups including the Bagisu, Bagwere, Teso, Baganda, and
Kenyans meet for worship and fellowship in unity with expatriates from the
US, Korea, Australia, and Lebanon. The very fact of our worship together
speaks of God’s plan from the beginning that we all would be one in Christ
Jesus. Cultural and personal differences are put aside as we focus on Him.
As a result our worship is also a blending of styles and desires.
Congregational singing is led by a group of 3 to 5 men who take turns
leading the songs they have selected. Both praise and worship songs are
chosen from a variety of languages so that all can participate in a known
language. Exuberance and enthusiasm abound as we rejoice together in
the presence of our God. Following a format that includes a time of praise,
communion with our Lord and one another, a time of singing songs of worship,
the offering, announcements, and preaching, we conclude with an extended
time for individual, one on one prayer with spiritual leaders in the
church. The personal needs of each individual, who asks for prayer, receive
attention. Visitors and guests are welcomed with a “big MCC hug”,
encouraged to sign our Visitors Book, and greeted warmly by those who are
nearby. At MCC we are family, sharing the good times and the bad, growing
in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Goals
for Mbale Church of Christ
We rejoice as the Mbale Church of Christ continues to grow in number and
maturity. One of the most recent signs of their maturing is seen in the
goals the church member proposed on their own. We did not prompt them in any
way, but simply listed the goals they suggested:
