Update on Renovation of New MTI Building

MTI is a multi-level training program for Christians in Africa who want to enhance their abilities to serve in the kingdom of God. With its main campus strategically located in Mbale, Uganda, MTI already serves students from Uganda, Kenya and Sudan. Courses are currently available in three programs of study in Bible, theology and Christian ministry: attendance certificate, basic certificate, and advanced certificate.

Attendance Certificate
In order to train students with little or no academic background, we have recently begun an attendance-certificate program for those who may be illiterate or semi-literate. These students must attend 20 basic-certificate courses that incorporate translation into the appropriate vernacular language.

Basic Certificate
Students in this program must attend and fulfill written requirements in 20 courses. Translation of lectures into another language is available at this level. After receiving one basic certificate, a student may choose to complete another 20 courses at the same level for a second basic certificate.

Advanced Certificate
Students who complete the requirements for the basic certificate may begin taking the thirty courses in the advanced-certificate program. These courses are taught in English without translation, with at least 30 hours of class time each.

Looking Ahead…

	In the coming year we hope to begin offering a distance-training program, using materials developed by Roger Dickson at the Institute of Biblical Studies in Cape Town.
	We are preparing a diploma program for ministry students who are able to study at a post-secondary level.
	Our eventual goal for MTI is to add to our certificate and diploma track bachelors-degree and masters-degree training for qualified students in Bible and theology.

Sign up to receive occasional prayer updates and take your place in the front line of those through whose prayers God will bring his vision for MTI into reality.

Come to Mbale for a few weeks, a few months, or longer and help us by:

	teaching courses (Biblical or vocational/technical)
	doing building construction
	setting up a center for computer training and other vocational skills
	maintaining vehicles
	keeping computers running
	keeping accounts
	or something else that God has equipped you to do

Contribute funds for:

	staff development (scholarships for African students who will become MTI instructors; salaries for MTI principal and support staff)
	property acquisition (several nearby pieces of property are needed to expand the MTI campus, some of which already have buildings on them; they range in price from about $3,000 to $50,000 each)
	building construction ($150,000 for a two-story office-classroom-library building; $150,000 for a two-story dormitory; $15,000 for a computer-training classroom)
