Goat
Projects
From the generosity of elementary students at Harding Academy and college
students at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, our team has distributed 72 goats to church
youth groups and nursery schools in Kenya and Uganda. Already, several of
these goats have “produced” (given birth) and are becoming a source of
income to needy children. |

Eyeglass Clinics
George and Diana Franklin have made annual trips to Uganda since 1999 to fit
and distribute eyeglasses to the seeing-impaired in rural villages of Kenya
and Uganda. Using our rural church buildings to house one-day clinics,
George and Diana help us give away about 1,500 eyeglasses a year. Praise the
Lord for George and Diana!

Church Roofs
Though we do not usually buy land or build church buildings, we do try to
affirm the efforts of rural churches by offering 20 corrugated iron sheets
to roof their buildings after they have completed the first three church
seminars and constructed their own meeting place. In the past, funds for
this ministry have come from the Ferguson Foundation, Quaker Avenue Church
of Christ (Lubbock, TX), and the generosity of many other congregations in
the U.S. |

Mayenze is just one of the many churches that
has received a roof for their church building.

Lira Relief
More than 15 of our rural churches have been terrorized by the Lord’s
Resistance Army (LRA), a terrorist organization operating in southern Sudan
and northern Uganda. While the Uganda army is constantly fighting to stop
the LRA, many Christians have lost their homes and all their possessions to
fire and looting. Last month, we distributed food, blankets, cooking
utensils, and other necessities to 19 families in Lira District with
contributions provided by Christian Relief Fund (CRF). As we have
opportunity, we want to continue meeting the physical needs of those
displaced by rebel activity to our north.
